Real-time Character done for my final project at Zombie Art School. The concept, done by Sara Hermellin, was incredible so I chose it for my final character. Admittedly I hadn't read the book series the concept is based off of but she sounded like a character that would spend a lot of time training. I imagined her going out into the wilderness with nothing but her wits and honing her warrior skills.

I learned so much working on this character. Before the course, I would usually just sculpt cloth but I can see how Marvelous Designer adds to the overall character - especially with complex clothing. I also took this as a chance to try out the metahuman workflow (pre 5.6). I ended up having to project the metahuman face onto the sculpted face (I sculpted over a scan). There were some issues but I learned a lot working through them. I've always been primarily a sculptor most of my career so I used substance painter here and there throughout the years. Working on Siam really pushed me to really utilize substance painter. I’m also in love with Topogun 3 now, I did use Maya for UVs but I might shift that to Blender. I'm really happy with how she came out!

I'd also like to thank my classmates but of course Ankit Garg and Zombie Art School for providing not just the mentorship but, the room for each of us to learn and grow as artist! I think my biggest challenge with working on Siam was perfectionism. I constantly second guessed myself but I’m so thankful for everybody who kept encouraging me to keep going by offering their advice and giving feedback. Special thanks to Timon (Dela), Henning, Chase, Cory, Welly, Joe, and Jordan! I honestly can’t wait to continue creating quality characters from here on out!
